As a day of pranks, April Fools day of 2009 had quite a few. Among them,

Tmtoulouse (Trent) changed his userpage stating that he was leaving RationalWiki to accommodate his new religious beliefs.
This spawned copy-cat confessions of religious conversion on Trent's userpage from Doggedpersistence and Bob M.
Continuing on Trent's page, many users decided to blame CUR for Trent's "departure" - in jest or not.
CUR posted a much more elaborate "hoax" where he acted as his usual drama-queen self and left a ~~thought-provoking~~ self-opinionated parthian shot. However, as he originally intended it to be real, it's not clear whether his subsequent relabeling of his departure as an "April fools" is really valid.
Javascap smote several users with a bunny, although perhaps Easter would have been a better time for this symbol.
Phantom Hoover added some CSS to his sig that caused the text "You are pwned. Bow down before me" to float in the middle of a user's window. This was, however, carried out at about 11:00 BST, and was reverted quickly, so most Americans missed it. It's also not entirely clear what that would have to do with April Fools Day, since the possibility of anyone actually believing it and bowing is rather low.
