On or about 14th February 2008, headline news was created when self-styled rationalists (and those who like to mock them) around the world were horrified to find that their favorite website, RationalWiki, was malfunctioning.

Keyboards were pounded, fingers were pointed, accusations were bandied about, forums were electrified and the internet ground to a halt as international investigations to establish the cause of the failure were instigated. The FBI were initially suspected of being behind the outage but this was denied by their secret head of operations, one A Schlafly.

Many and varied were the pointed accusations then directed at Linus who responded immediately and comprehensively to all questions asked and who dropped everything to fix the problem. Or not.

Finally, after some hours, in the early morning of the 15th, Tmtoulouse did something quick and dirty to get the show back on the road, and the site came back on-line to relief of all. While there appeared to be some alleged "improvements" (100 points!), some irksome bugs made some editor's experience less than optimum.
