Brxbrx, (aka "Bricks" or "Holy Shit You're Annoying") is a revolting shit-bag^[7] who hails from Encyclopaedia Dramatica where he enjoys making tasteless comments regarding racial groups which Brx defends as "bold, edgy humour".^[8] These are unusual origins for a RationalWiki editor, and his tendency to edit as if he were still on his home turf has caused friction. He was sysopped by Tyrannis on 28 February 2011, but has since had the powers revoked in part because of his abuse of the "oversight" function to purge personal information that he shouldn't have posted in the first place. His rank was in flux for a while, but because he was ultimately not trusted with sysop powers, a new user group, "Bricks", was created that would allow him to edit the wiki without leaving red exclamation points all over the place.^[9] His seeming inability to play by the simplest of rules has carried over from RationalWiki to this site, where he has on several occasions committed the cardinal sin of editing his own article.^[10]

He claims to speak fluent French, although his proficiency in the language has been questioned by WaitingforGodot. He also claims that his name is Camille,^[2] but he possesses a copy of a file-recovery software package that was not registered under this name. He later clarified that this software was registered in his brother's name as, Brxbrx himself being unemployed, $45 software packages were out of his budget range.^[11][12]

Brxbrx loves the cheeselike taste of cleaning products (as long as they don't burn his mouth),^[13] and has been known to retrieve discarded food from city sidewalks and stations.^[14]

On 18 April 2011 Brxbrx declared himself semi-retired after failing a cashier's math test. He appeared to think that this somehow made him unworthy to contribute.^[15] He later passed a second test.^[16]

On May 8th 2012, Brx revealed that he had been banned by EA for posting an ED link on one of their forums.^[17] Were RationalWiki to be so lucky.

Brxbrx seems to attract a particular level of scorn from some long-time Rationalwikians. Occasionaluse, Human, Ace McWicked, Nutty Roux, P-Foster, RA, and Sterile do not like Brxbrx, oftentimes referring to him as a troll.^[18][19][20] Brxbrx's inability to ingratiate himself with the old guard has made him a bit of a target. In one incident, Brxbrx requested that people not edit his userpage as such edits generated annoying automatic e-mails to him,^[21] Z-Rex, AD, Genghis, Cracker and others immediately began to edit his userpage.^[22][23]

Occasionaluse has tried to imply that Brxbrx is his sock, and a BoN has claimed that Brxbrx is MarcusCicero.

He is also much more tolerant of religion than most of the site regulars, and once got into a debate on the subject with Tmtoulouse on the subject.^[24] Other incidents of note include attempting to get the article on Maratreanism deleted,^[25] calling the Atheist Bus campaign "trolling",^[26] and various other complaints.^[27][28][29] He has also jokingly claimed to believe Armondikov has a developmental disability.^[30]

Aside from those users with whom he has specific spats, he is barely tolerated by the rank and file, many of whom view him as at best a general annoyance and at worst an intentional drama queen and troll. Specific gripes by his numerous detractors include incessant use of /b/tard vocabulary, bending-over-backwards accommodationism, and disregard for RW policy, tradition, and aspects of user privacy all the while insisting it is others who fail to understand the RW tradition. His talk page typically contains many threads complaining about his behavior, and he has not shown willingness to reform. However, RWians supporting a move towards more structure have found in him a reliable if unlikely ally. Nx in particular seems to hold a positive view, having nominated him as moderator.^[31] Brxbrx declined, saying he does not want the responsibility^[32] and probably knew he wouldn't get elected anyway.

Brxbrx believes that he is part of an emerging "New Culture" at Rationalwiki, one that has supplanted the culture embodied by long-time editors such as Ace McWicked, whom he likened to "a cranky conservative" who was upset that he wasn't "allowed to lynch niggers anymore."^[33] At a later date, he decided that this kind of comparison was "not that bad" and levelled virtually the same accusation at Nutty Roux.^[34]

A few days after the first lynching comment, Brxbrx provoked further bemusement and derision from the RW community by comparing their attitude towards Maratrean to a pogrom in medieval Spain.^[35] He has also compared some RationalWikians' opposition to polygamy to Michele Bachmann's attitude towards homosexuals.^[36]

So far, less than a handful of people (namely Maratrean^[37]) have declared their support for Brxbrx's "new culture" in public, and nobody has come to his defense for his tasteless framing of the issue.

[edit] Hiatus and return

On 27 January 2012, Brxbrx blocked himself indefinetly.^[38] And there was much rejoicing. While he did pop in on February 15th to make a single Saloon Bar edit, calling WaitingforGodot a "bloated deluded hag",^[39] and did contact some editors by email (which nobody bothered replying to),^[40] his absence, along with the departure of Maratrean, allowed the wiki to breathe a collective sigh of relief and editors such as Lily and Totnesmartin reappeared for the first time in months.

Such good times are not permitted to last, and Brx returned, having spent 2 months writing an article.^[41] He immediately created his own idiotic alternative to the Saloon Bar, where people he doesn't like aren't permitted to post,^[42] and nobody is interested in posting anyway. It consists, therefore, entirely of Brx talking to himself.

[edit] Accusations of racism

Due to the aforementioned tasteless editing at ED concerning racial groups and his references to lynching, Brx decided he needed to put the matter to rest by writing an essay in which he repeated the phrase "I am not a racist" eight times, and outlined reasons why he cannot be a racist. These reasons include having a black friend, liking Spike Lee movies, listening to Hip-Hop and, when singing aloud to to his favourite rap groups, Brx prefers to replace the word "nigger" with "African-American" which he does even though "it kinda kills the rhythm and delivery".^[43]
