I'm doubtful that RationalWiki's official mission is its mission.

—Lumenos[4]

Lumenos is a particularly odd editor at RationalWiki.[5] Ey disappeared for a while following The WikiIndex Incident, but returned in early June 2010[6]. Ey does, of course, maintain eir own wiki, but it mostly consists of em talking to eirself in eir own invented language with eir own invented words spam.

Upon eir initial return to RationalWiki, Lumenos's edits mostly consisted of edit warring with RationalWikians over accusations of authoritarian abuses of power, and moving pages into a vast maze of subpages within Lumenos's userspace. However, after the dust settled and RationalWikians reached out to Lumenos, ey began behaving more productively, albeit being as "unique" as ey ever were.

Lumenos' writing leaves much to be desired, at times rivaling Proxima Centauri's for badness. If you come across a talk post that makes you say "What the fuck does this have to do with the current conversation?" and/or "What the hell is [ey] talking about?", it's probably eirs.

[edit] Foundation opposition

In late July 2010, Lumenos voiced strong opposition to Trent's decision to transfer ownership of RationalWiki to a not-for-profit foundation run by Trent and two other trustees (Human and Armondikov), claiming that this would concentrate too much power in the hands of Trent, and that Trent will eventually begin curtailing the "freedoms" that the wiki users currently enjoy. The biggest bee in eys bonnet seemed to be the concern that a trustee would appoint himself the effective "President-for-life" of RationalWiki, and take away the "right to fork" that Lumenos continually brings up. However, his opposition ahd little to no effect on Trent's decision to continue with the Foundation, and indeed ey seems to have been the only user expressing concern over the prospective move.[Oh, really?] In fact, many Rationalwikians just wish ey would "fork off".

During the January 2011 election, ey asked the nominees two questions: whether they agreed with RWW's editing your own article policy, which has nothing to do with the the foundation, and about copyright and the "right to fork". As a result, the talk page quickly turned into a complete mess mostly consisting of Lumenos's ramblings. [7]
