Mintman is a socialist, plant scientist and sporadic contributor to RationalWiki. He joined on July 8, 2009 and was sysoped by Human on the 21st of that month.^[4]

Although he has created several mainspace articles on science-related topics,^[5] the bulk of his edits have been to a long-running and sporadic debate with ListenerX on the subject of communism;^[6][7] He takes the position that Nazism is a far more abominable philosophy than communism due to the latter having a noble ultimate ideal,^[8] in opposition to ListenerX's position that communism and Nazism are similar in several crucial regards.^[9]
