RationalWikiFauna
From RationalWikiWiki
RationalWiki attracts an eclectic mix of characters, and one might even call it a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits. The wiki's population is comprised of many types of RationalWikiFauna, from the playful WikiDolphin to the bizarre WikiMartian.

[edit] WikiBear
The WikiBear regularly spends long periods of time "hibernating," but returns for similarly long periods of time. Not to be confused with the other species of WikiFauna that doesn't edit for long periods of time, the WikiGhost.
Examples
[edit] WikiDolphin
The WikiDolphin loves to play, and spends their time on the wiki having fun. It is one of two species of WikiFauna that primarily thinks of the wiki as a playground; the other is the WikiJackal.
Examples
- Main-period Pink
- Arthropleura (nee CUR)
[edit] WikiEarthworm
The WikiEarthworm, like its humus-excreting subterranean counterpart, makes many useful edits to the Wiki without attracting overly much attention to its presence, either by explicitly shunning controversy or by making few controversial edits. For this reason, the WikiEarthworm might be somewhat underappreciated; this does not usually bother the WikiEarthworm.
Examples
- AKjeldsen
- Nebuchadnezzar
- Stile4aly (at least before the hit-list parody controversy)
- Thunderkatz
[edit] WikiJackal
The WikiJackal resembles the playground bully. Often an incredibly fast and prolific editor, it is known for its temper and cavalier disregard for other editors and community rules.
Examples
- Early- to middle-period Human
[edit] WikiMartian
This rare species of WikiFauna is sometimes-frustrating mystery to the rest of the wiki. The WikiMartian moves about RationalWiki as if it is from a different planet, speaking in tongues and making incomprehensible edits. It is highly susceptible to completely missing the point and not even wrong.
Examples
[edit] WikiGhost
The WikiGhost is a long-retired editor who very rarely, if at all, returns to make a minor comment or have a small conversation.
Examples
[edit] WikiEagle
The WikiEagle sees very clearly and often gives extremely perceptive opinions on issues. It is able to spot errors, fallacies, and deceit from a mile away. Both examples are also scientists, which may mean something.
Examples
- Armondikov
- ListenerX - current period
[edit] WikiWorkhorse
The WikiWorkhorse shoulders the tedious, unnoticed, yet necessary work that most others don't have the drive to do. It spends a lot of time doing structural work with categories and templates. The WikiWorkhorse is endangered, however; the WikiSorcerer/WikiSorceress is always looking for ways to do the WikiWorkhorse's work automagically.
Examples
[edit] WikiFox
The WikiFox is an editor who rarely, if at all, edits anything but talk pages (making it similar to the WikiDolphin), but isn't afraid of joining in the argument when it starts. It tends to be highly intelligent, perceptive and even wily. It consistently makes well thought out points in posts.
Examples
[edit] WikiSorcerer(ess)
The WikiSorcerer is a wizard of the technology that powers the wiki, and constantly looks for ways to improve it. While most of its work is appreciated and encouraged, it can sometimes be so bold as to evoke the ire of WikiEnts.
Examples
[edit] WikiEnt
The WikiEnt has been around for a very long time, and carries a wealth of wiki-experiences and wiki-wisdom. However, it is notoriously uncompromising when it comes to changing the status quo.
