RationalWikiWiki:Block policy

From RationalWikiWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

RationalWikiWiki block policy is based on several half-formed ideas, chief among them that we will avoid committing the same abuses that RationalWiki has perpetrated.

Contents

[edit] Actions meriting blocks

Only these actions will merit a block.

  • Pageblank vandalism
  • Spam vandalism

Actions not listed are by definition not block-worthy.

[edit] Actions not meriting blocks

However much you would like to ban people for these actions, you can't. Sorry, but this is a wiki and anything they do can simply be reverted without having to block them. A few edits needing reverting does not a crisis make.

If the user in question is particularly consistent, we can always lock the page in question.

[edit] Block length

No block may last longer than three days unless dealing with a known vandal.

[edit] Help

If you feel you have been blocked unjustly please follow this question and answer process: (Some liberties may have been taken with the meanings of "question" and "answer".)

  • Question 1 : Help. I've been blocked. What should I do?
  • Answer 1 : Click this link
  • Question 2 : Thank you. I mean what should I do if I wish to become unblocked?
  • Answer 2 : What do you intend to post on RationalWikiWiki?
  • Question 3 : I intend to edit my own article, get involved in edit warring and randomly blank articles.
  • Answer 3 : Please see answer 1.
  • Question 4 : Oh all right. I intend to write mildly insulting articles about what goes on at RationalWiki and the personalities there.
  • Answer 4 : In that case get a sock and write something on an active sysop's talk page.
  • Question 5 : I'm too stupid to figure out how to make a sock. What should I do? (And please don't refer me to Answer 1)
  • Answer 5 : We make the jokes, OK?. Anyway, the solution is to make a note on RationalWikiWiki's talk page on RationalWiki.
