RobSimith (or formerly RobS), though normally to be found searching under his bed for Communist infiltrators, can sometime be seen fighting the good fight against the forces of International Communism at RationalWiki. This tactic has three results:

1. International Communism is driven back from the internet to its bunker in the Kremlin.
2. Conservapedia's truth, justice and vital boldily fluids are defended away from its own borders by RobS's square-jawed heroism/Napalm Orange throwing, and Senator McCarthy's legacy is safe
3. RWikians can laugh at him without even having to go to CP.

After President Obama released his longform birth certificate, Rob paraphrased the immortal words of Alger Hiss, "In the future the way that Barack Obama was able to carry out forgery by typewriter will be disclosed."^[5]

He usually shows up out of date on the goings-on at both sites. Whenever he shows his face, the forces of International Communism, namely Ace, Nutty, P-Foster, and Mikalos209 aren't far behind; ready to deal with him so the rest of the community doesn't have to. There is a template, called 'fish',^[6] that saves the casual commentor from having to go and write "What's that got to do with the price of fish?" out in full every time. As a general rule responding to him at all—even in frustration—is increasingly discouraged, though AD seems to enjoy 'debating' him.

Starting in 2012 Rob began appearing frequently in the Saloon bar, much to the annoyance of, well, everyone. By mid April he was effectively omnipresent, resulting in a single bar discussion staying up for almost a month. eventually, RWians tired of this and began moving the conversations to the forum. So now the forum is inundated with Rob. The result of this is as follows:

1. A topic is made.
2. Rob barges in with a misinformed comment that strokes his own ego and supports his wingnut worldview.
3. Rob is shot down with facts and/or accurate worldview.
4. Rob does not understand what being proven wrong is, and as such does not realize he's lost and continues pumping out incoherent post after incoherent post.
5. Everybody becomes tired of his stupidity and leaves him alone.
6. Rob thinks he's won and comes back tomorrow to keep annoying people.
7. Alternatively, being unable to lose in his mind, the attention from people not leaving him alone keeps him coming back.
8. Nobody wants him around but he sticks around anyway, much to the displeasure of all.

While "RobS" was simply sysoped by TheoryOfPractice on 14 July 2009^[7] and his rights have not been touched since,^[8] RobSmith's rights are frequently the subject of wheel-wars,^[9] not least because he wouldn't be able to unblock himself if not a sysop.

RobSmith was first sysoped by TOP on 22 November 2009, with the comment "All power to the soviets!!!" On 30 March 2010 he was promoted by Reckless Noise Symphony for "Threatening to get RationalWikians banned from Wikipedia, conduct unbecoming a sysop".^[9][10] He was later demoted by RNS again on the 17^th of May, commenting that he "Has ceased trolling RW with WP BS". But Ace then promoted him again.

There the matter rested until February 2011, when TOP demoted him stating "Fuck, what's the worst he could do?" However, TOP then desysoped him again citing impending HCM. After the great desysoping of May 2011 rob was resysoped by Trent.

Between 23 January 2012 and 10 February 2012 Rob was promoted a total of five times,^[11] each of which was swiftly reverted.^[12]

In April 2012, citing the deletion and moving of forums set up to contain Rob's dribbling, Sophie took the matter of Rob's sysopship to the coop.^[13][14] The vote was close at 13:13,^[15][16] a mere one vote short of being able to (permanently) desysop Rob.
