UncleHo is a rather controversial member of RationalWiki, who like Ace McWicked has been known to edit the Wiki while drunk or otherwise doped up.^[5][6] His username is an homage to Ho Chi Minh, for whom he professes a certain admiration;^[7][8] he is thus the latest in a series of users who have named themselves after famous politicians.^[9]

He describes himself as a "revolutionary socialist," which apparently means he is left-wing enough to compare the communist P-Foster to Benito Mussolini.^[10] He stated that he acquired these beliefs during a stint in the U.S. Army, which he joined as an alternative to homelessness and also to receive a $10,000 signing bonus.^[11]

For these reasons, he is greatly at odds with ListenerX. Indeed, at one point he expressed the desire to shoot that editor in the head for the offense of editing the Wiki too much,^[12] and has engaged in several edit wars with him,^[13] as well as comparing him unfavorably to Unit 731, Japan's answer to Josef Mengele.^[14] He also engaged in a "troll vs. troll" spat with MarcusCicero.^[15]

He started his editing career as an IP on January 25, 2010; one of his first edits was a claim about the British Empire: "Compared to Her Majesty's thugs, the Nazis were teen anarchists, smoking in the high school parking lot."^[16] This claim was objected to by several editors and reverted by ListenerX;^[17] the situation eventually escalated to a minor turdblossom in which UncleHo, acting as though he already had a close familiarity with RationalWiki ways, defended his refusal to source his claim by saying, "Get together some sources? That would be just about the first time ever on this Wiki."^[18]

Thereafter he began a series of edit wars, in which he continued to act as though he were an established editor or familiar with RationalWiki ways, even before he signed up as a user on January 28.^[19][20] Despite accusations of his being a troll,^[21] he was sysopped on February 3 by Gooniepunk2010.^[22] Gooniepunk2010 desysopped him on March 19 on account of further edit warring, but P-Foster restored his sysopship on the 30th. This lasted until July 1, when P-Foster desysopped him again on account of protracted edit-wars during which he called Human a fascist.^[23] For a while, he was much better behaved. He had been focusing his efforts on an essay encouraging people to ask him about his military intelligence experience.^[4] His sysopship was restored on November 1 by Gooniepunk2010.

In January 2011, it all went downhill again, with him accusing Thunderkatz, ListenerX, and Ace McWicked of racism, fascism, etc.^[24][25], in a stream of profanity that included a second death threat towards ListenerX.^[26] His main beef appeared to be that no one would accept his claim that ListenerX's religion, Asatru, was "more racist than the Waffen-SS;" a position that he maintained despite several editors protesting that his sources said the exact opposite of what he claimed they said.

P-Foster eventually took him to the chicken coop. While Nx and P-Foster suggested a permaban, Kels, Ace, and Tyrannis supported 3 months minimum (and desysopping in the case of Tyrannis). SuperJosh, Weaseloid, and SuspectedReplicant supported "long term blocks". Thunderkatz and EddyP supported promotion for a month, as well as a small block, Permabanning if does not apologize for the threat. Occasionaluse agreed that ListenerX is a racist fascist, but this might have just been for the sake of form; he offered no constructive suggestions. A consensus was reached, with UncleHo being promoted and banned for three months by Ace.

UncleHo did not return immediately after his block expired; but seven months to the day after he had been cooped, he began editing again, stating that he had been in alcohol rehab due to post-traumatic stress disorder.^[27]

In February of 2012, he returned again, announcing his intent to purge RationalWiki of a "right wing bias that would make Andy blush."^[28] He attempted to execute this design with a short and violent spate of vandalism, denouncing editors who reverted him as "supporters of ListenerX."^[29][30] He lasted all of one hour before he was blocked again.

He has the habit of capitalizing the initial letter of parentheticals,^[2] which caused P-Foster to remonstrate with him.^[31]

He is a polyglot, and has communicated with other editors in French^[32] and Finnish (although the latter was addressed to an Estonian and not understood).^[33][34]
