Ungtss initially only lasted for five days on RationalWiki, beginning February 14th 2008 and effectively ceasing to participate February 19th (aside from a few isolated, non-notable edits on April 10th).[2] Nonetheless, he is notable for touching off a small furor across several of its talk pages.
After making several edits that could be interpreted as vaguely pro-creationist, the more reactionary editors became suspicious of his motives and he was accused of being a stealth creationist.[3][4] Ungtss proved himself to both friendly and well-spoken,[5] and remained fairly calm throughout discussions.
His edits instigated (*gasp!*) unfettered debate on several talk pages.[5] Despite Ungtss' amiability and openness, these discussions ended in a complete and magnificent failure of communication (despite the many big words utilized by both sides).
Things were pulled to a halt by PalMD, who was fed up with Ungtss and blocked him. The only justification he initially gave was "[I'm] capricious and cranky, so piss off". NightFlare called foul and unblocked him. PalMD reblocked Ungtss, this time with at least a token excuse ("Removing content from pages without discussion"). AKjeldsen unblocked him again ("Can't see having removed anything. Refs?"). PalMD, apparently unwilling to provide examples of Ungtss' transgressions, "tries to be nice" and blocks Ungtss -- again -- for 3 minutes.[6] Radioactive afikomen (who was evidently absent for PalMD's first two blocks) took issue with this last block and lectured PalMD on his talk page.[7]
Although there are currently no blocks in effect on Ungtss, the past blocks he received were more than enough to drive him away. After April 10th, 2008, he ceased editing for over six months. (RationalWiki would not undergo any more non-one-sided debates until the arrival of CPAdmin1, and later MarcusCicero.)
Ungtss returned as an active editor October 31st, 2008.[2] In his interactions with others, he seems to be as as polite and as persistent as ever.[8] Given RationalWiki's notoriously short-term memory, the past incidents involving him are probably long forgotten by most users, though still recalled by some. On this occasion his interactions were more low-key, possibly indicating that some of the more confrontational authors had decided to ignore him as a troll.
He was sysopped by Radioactive afikomen on 2 November 2008,[9] and disappeared again shortly after that.
He has recently been spotted at A Storehouse of Knowledge, complaining about how science can't explain everything, which may mean that accusations of his pro-creationist stance were partly justified.
[edit] Resurgence
On the 3rd May 2009 he returned to RW but very much as a one trick pony. His edits are almost entirely to Talk:WIGO:ASK and Debate:Falsifiability which was set up to avoid overspilling the WIGO:ASK page. He has made ~250 edits to this page in its two incarnations as of the 12th May.
