Mei is useful. She used to be less useful. She had a habit of causing lots of trouble, which might just have been because she was frustrated over something that has nothing to do with RW and was angry due to that. Or it could have been because of a fundamental personality conflict with CUR. [6]
Mei originally registered under the name No, with sandwiches and was sysoped on 9 February 2009.[7] She then attempted to rename her account by moving her userpage, creating a huge mess in the process. Once her intentions became clear,[8] Toast renamed No, with sandwiches to Mei.[9]
Mei has an affinity for Japanese anime characters, and has represented herself with said characters. She is also hardworking (and of course, useful), shows good judgment, and displays intelligence and maturity way beyond what is usual for her stated age. 9.5 out of 10 people agree that Mei would make a good friend in real life!

[edit] Meitirement and Meiturn
On May 7, 2009, Mei (sorta) announced that she was leaving RationalWiki[10], and stopped editing after that point. She returned, however, as Mei II on November 1, 2009.[11], and has, with very little effort, become popular just by being friendly and, especially, useful.
[edit] Noticeable absence
Mei left a "message for Mei"[12] on her talkpage on 2 May 2010, and seems to have disappeared since then. Though she has disappeared before and then returned, so the entire RationalWiki community (except Fall down, of course), is hoping that she will return to being useful soon. A sock Me, The First appears to be Mei [13], and informs us that Mei is not "back," but might be hanging around sometimes.
On April 8, 2011, Mei blocked herself for 6 months, citing real life issues[14] She has unblocked herself periodically to comment on things, but is pretty much inactive.
On May 5, she returned with a clever sock, only a puzzle on her userpage, solved by a BoN revealed that it was Mei[15]
[edit] Cunning Log of Mei
The Cunning Log of Mei (CLoM) was a blog of sorts written in Mei's userspace. Some of the stuff is a bit random, but mostly it's quite thought provoking and entertaining. She was at one point providing commentary on Ayn Rand's masterwork, Atlas Shrugged, but at the time of writing it appears that this series is on hiatus.

Being useful, Mei will add capture tags in cases where other editors have failed to include them in their posts on the talk page of the Conservapedia WIGO page; as seen here. In doing this, she tends to follow with a simple post consisting of "Capt." With her signature added, it appears that she's referring to herself as Captain Mei. This could mean any one of the below:
- Mei is in fact a captain, perhaps in charge of an aircraft carrier (unlikely)
- "Capt" is an abbreviation of the word '"capture'" (unlikely)
- Mei is descending into insanity (in the style of Caligula) and believes herself to be a captain of Gondor (highly likely)
