Dude, love your work on the bios. Keep the good stuff coming. :D --AKjeldsen 18:08, 29 December 2007 (EST)

One does what one can. Got a lot on this afternoon so no more today I fear. I'll take suggestions for next victims though. Signed Deep Throat.

The future

I should like to take this opportunity to wish one and all a Happy new Year; and to ask - will we all be here in a year's time to celebrate another anniversary? Will TK have wikilawyered his way into being a RW Sysop? Will Human have proposed to SusanG? Will her brother, AmesG have united RW and CP? Will Bob M and and AKjeldsen found their own religion? Will HeartOfGold return and actually write a meaningful article? Will the mysterious Colin make a reappearance? Will the FBI ever listen to Andrew Schlafly? How many more levels of the Cabal will be created? Do the [[Ferret overlords]] really exist? All this, and more, will be revealed on site and here. Signed - Deep Throat.

Well, Colin did make a very brief appearance, at least. Susan is "married" already. And why not create an account so I don't get nervous when I see an IP editing all over the wiki? Auf weidersehn, humanbe in 13:36, 19 February 2008 (EST)
Sorry I missed out on that Colin edit, but I see it's in his article now. Susan? Yes, well, I know what you mean, but I wanted to mention you both in my New Year's wishes. And, hey man, you know that I always edit as an IP - both here and on RationalWiki. Signed: False Flag. (AKA deep throat)

[edit] Darn it Igor, I need more power!

You and I are the two most prolific--sometimes the only--contributors here. In all fairness, shouldn't we have sysop or even bureaucrat powers (especially now that you have an account)? --Hans Johnson I'll get my hans on it 01:35, 29 February 2008 (EST)

I agree. But who do we speak to?--FalseFlagFlag Me 13:44, 29 February 2008 (EST)
Spoke to Admin and we are among the rich and famous.--FalseFlagFlag Me 14:55, 29 February 2008 (EST)

Someone had better get something figured out. Some 1337 uber luser is moving all pages on the site... and when I tried to block him, the function appeared to phail. humanbe in 16:26, 29 February 2008 (EST)

I had a similar experience, but then the recent changes seemed to show it as working. Now my rollbacks look weird.--FalseFlagFlag Me 16:29, 29 February 2008 (EST)
Oh dear. I missed The Vandal Incident, FalseFlag ;-) --Hans Johnson I'll get my hans on it 16:41, 29 February 2008 (EST)
Yes. Well looks like Human and I stopped him. Strange things happen though. When you do a block it tells you you have failed, and the same thing with a revert. In actuality it works though. Weird.--FalseFlagFlag Me 16:44, 29 February 2008 (EST)
Did RW ever get a global revert figured out?--FalseFlagFlag Me 16:45, 29 February 2008 (EST)

[edit] FYI

I AM NOT RYAN, OK?! --98.17.53.235 16:47, 10 March 2008 (EST)

Nope, he's not me. I'll post with my IP now. --Ryan 01:29, 12 March 2008 (EST)
This is Ryan's IP --121.219.126.57 01:29, 12 March 2008 (EST)

[edit] Missing you

You were AWOL for a while. Welcome back, friend. Hans Johnson I'll get my hans on it 15:48, 26 March 2008 (CDT)

Thank you. Just playing around for the moment. (If you can get some color back in that template I just created it might help.)--FalseFlag 15:51, 26 March 2008 (CDT)

[edit] New power

As a bureaucrat, you probably notice that you have a new power. Hans Johnson I'll get my hans on it 04:08, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

When you look at a page's history, next to each edit you will see a (show/hide) button. Clicking the button provides you with the option to hide various parts of the diff link: the actual change made in the edit, the edit summary, and the name of whoever made the edit. (You can also adjust the visibility to hide it even from sysops, but that is a moot option here as the position has been eliminated.) This power ("hide revision") is similar to oversight, except it is much easier to "unhide" the edit later, and the fact that there ever was an edit is still public knowledge (as opposed to oversight, which removes any evidence the edit ever existed, and does so permanently). Hans Johnson I'll get my hans on it 04:08, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

The primary purpose of this power is to deny any notoriety to vandals by expunging their edits from the record. It's also wicked friggin' cool. Hans Johnson I'll get my hans on it 04:08, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] welcome/help

there is a red link in the welcome template to the alleged help files. Also, the link in the sidebar goes nowhere... Human 21:08, 17 September 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Generating controversy

You seem to not understand what this site is. The Adjudicator 13:07, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

You think so? Truth is that I seem to remember writing some of the site policies - but I suppose things change.--False Flag 15:48, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
What do you think this site is? It should represent WIGO over at RW more than anything else. Not just a few individuals who are arsed been able to have a venting platform. The Adjudicator 17:01, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
I think the main page explains it quite well; though now that almost everybody is a sysop the "identifying sysop abuse" might need to be looked at again. When I edited here I used to try to do so with a light hand. The recent descent into taking a clear stance in respect of some RW issues is clearly a mistake.
In my opinion it is very easy for the good folks at RW to take themselves too seriously, we should be ready to give them the occasional reality check. But it should be even-handed. I have tried to being some balance back from time to time, but frankly I had neither the time nor the energy to do so. Later as the site became so extremely associated with one particular point of view I became disinclined to validate it by continuing to contribute.--False Flag 17:15, 1 November 2008 (UTC)
Then it seems we agree. The Adjudicator 18:21, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Fall down

User:Fall down may need teh Blockie. If you give me blocking power here I'll be happy to do it. Proxima Centauri 10:53, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

I think I'll hold off from that for the time being PC. He may behave himself.--False Flag 11:04, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm supposed to be able to edit my own page. Also, Fall Down needs to be moved to Fall down, as my name is in lower case. Fall down 10:58, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm afraid you misunderstand. You are, of course allowed to edit your own user page User:Fall down. You may not edit your own Article Page Fall Down. If you don't like your article page please take it up on the appropriate talk page. Thanks.--False Flag 11:01, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
Yes, I understand now that you corrected the error. Fall down 04:45, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Email

Would you please enable you email? It would be appreciated if we had some way of contacting you outside of RationalWiki. Additionally, I have some concerns which would be best if communicated privately. Hans Johnson I'll get my hans on it 01:09, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

OK that's done.--False Flag 18:52, 9 December 2008 (UTC)
Thank you. Hans Johnson I'll get my hans on it 07:09, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Please don't go

If we're going to get this site back up, we'll need someone who has been there from near the beginning, and who doesn't do much on RWW so they aren't hampered by the editing your own article rule. Phantom Hoover 08:06, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

There are soem problems here. When this wiki was a sort of weird mirror of RW it was quite fun, but later it became a vehicle for HJ to further his battle with one user and also to criticize one particular line of thought at RW. This irritated me.
When HJ handed power to you, PH, you took it upon yourself to decide issues without consultation. Something which also seemed wrong to me. While there may be few active users it still seems like to good idea to ask for opinions before making changes. If nobody responds then any changes can be made on the basis that people are too indifferent to comment. But simply assuming indifference and making changes is a bit irritating.
In any case I am not convinced that there is enough real activity on RW to warrant a wiki dedicated to its analysis on an ongoing basis, and few editors seem to have interest in doing so. In fact, the wiki now seems to have become a bit of a playground for special interests, trolls, real children and elderly children. So I'm afraid that the history of the project, its present state and what I foresee in the future all conspire to reduce my interest.--False Flag 16:27, 4 May 2009 (UTC)

[edit] Parable

Your parable on RW about TK rocks! http://rationalwiki.com/wiki/Essay:Wiki_Parable It is terrific work. I understand what it means. Even though written some time ago, it's still true today. I just wanted to let you know that it is one of my all-time favorite works on RW. Refugee 18:42, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

Thank you very much for that. You're most kind. I had imagined that it wouldn't mean very much to people now. In fact, I've been meaning to do a side-by-side in the form of textual criticism of an ancient text which in a straight-faced but tongue-in-cheek manner explains or speculates about the meaning of the "newly-discovered ancient text". To tell the truth, the last time I read it there was at least one bit that was too subtle even for for me. --False Flag 19:46, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

[edit] The great mystery

Who is False Flag? Is he Trent? Human? Colin? We may never know. TyrannisAn iron, yet caring fist 21:09, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

He doesn't act like human. I think he's you. I think Ty is running half a dozen socks including Z-Rex, Colonel Sanders, and ChristopherS. --Brxbrx 01:05, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Nah, False Flag was around waaaaaay before Ty ever graced us with his presence. Punky McPunkersen 05:57, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Or maybe... False Flag created the "Ty" identity as part of his scheme! Leaves us to wonder who that hairy guy in all those pictures is. Maybe his girlfriend?--Brxbrx 08:16, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
LMAO. But on a serious note, I would say there's a 100% chance that False Flag isn't Ty. Punky McPunkersen 08:50, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
Maybe RA knows. Maybe. But not this isn't one of my 8 sockpuppets. TyrannisAn iron, yet caring fist 11:29, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
(ಠ㉨ರೃ) And so the mystery hunt begins...--만두 12:39, 24 October 2011 (UTC)
