Sorry, we had a bit of a spam problem a while back. Ty 11:33, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for saying that on behalf of Brxbrx. Preemptive blocking is a bad idea, though. Some of us have dorky user names which looks rather spammy. Have tried to change it to something more intelligent, but it goes all the way back to my BBS days, so I guess I'm stuck with it. Sunny256 10:35, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- I probably jumped the gun, but I don't think blocking someone for a day to make sure they aren't spammers is such a bad idea. During the attacks, anybody that wasn't obviously from RW was given this block. I also think it's especially appropriate for this particular site, since there's little point joining in if you aren't from RW. Sorry for any trouble--Brxbrx 18:04, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for dropping by. I understand that things can be somewhat chaotic during a parasite attack, but there's this rule about being innocent until proven guilty. And blocking for a day solves nothing; the next day the spammer's back, posting their crap. But the incident is history now, was just a bit annoyed when it happened. I found lots of things to read on RW, though. There's lots of RW history to learn. Really nice place. See you around! -- Sunny256|✎ 18:28, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
