Because these abilities have historically been easy to abuse -- even unintentionally -- a user will be given police powers only if ... the user has demonstrated competence and an ability to moderate their reactions to vandalism (i.e., can be trusted to not jump the gun and ban a user with only a couple edits).

1.A vandal on RW has been blanking templtes with a comment somewhat along the lines of what you would get from hitting your keyboard(such as yVJKbYQwFRAg, as an example). So, when a user popped up with a very similar username, I presumed, based on prior expiriance, that some level of vandalism would be involved. It's the same reason you made all these blocks:

Hmmm. That's an interesting way to view it. I think most people on the internet are about the same in real life - their internet personality is a reflection of their real life self. But you seem to view it more as a "role playing game" only with real people instead of video game characters. I guess you are not the only person who looks at it that way.
