Vandal

Vandals are users who vandalize pages on RationalWiki. Styles and competence vary, from page blanking to writing "ur gay" to posting shock images to Asw1, who despite being binned continued to vandalize the wiki in slow increments for several months. RW's help file alleges that there are three types of vandalism "funny", "not unfunny" and "unfunny". Unfunny vandalism is an official block reason. In practice there is only the latter.

Vandals are treated in different ways. In the early days of RW, "funny" vandalism was archived in "the vandal archives". Such things can still be seen in the odd nook and cranny, but this practice died the death. The vandal bin is primarily used on registered vandals, while blocks are used on IP vandals. Block lengths tend to vary from 31 minutes to 9 hours depending on the blocker.
