Tmtoulouse is co-founder of RationalWiki, along with ColinR (who is presently missing in action).
He is probably the most powerful person on RW, if there is any power anywhere, since he holds the seekrit password to root access, and the server is hidden in a potted plant next to his desk.
He is much less active during his school terms; indeed he disappears almost completely and allows Human the run of the chicken coop in his absence.
April the 1st and all that
On April 1, 2009, Tmtoulouse announced his intention to retire from RationalWiki in order to explore a "new found spirituality" associated with the Biblical world-view.[3] Disconcertingly Not surprisingly, many of the level-headed rational drama queens at RW took him seriously and quite reasonably blamed a convenient scapegoat for his departure. Meanwhile, other users realized it was an April Fool's joke and played along, either announcing that they also intended to leave or blaming CUR for driving Trent off the wiki. [4]
